Yarn of the week

Every other week I will introduce one of my wonderful yarns on this page. I will tell a bit about who makes it, how it is made, and about the fibres used. The best part of the consept is that while this yarn is featured as Yarn of the week, the price will be reduced by 15% in the web shop.

I put a lot of pride and effort into Knit with attitude’s selection of environmentally friendly and ethically produced yarns, and because I believe the yarns we offer are amazing I hope that as many as possible get the chance to try knitting or crocheting with them. It can seem risky and scary moving out of one’s own comfort zone, trying out new fibres and brands you haven’t used before, and that’s why I came up with Yarn of the week, to encourrage you to try something new! (Ok, to be honest, I’ve streched the week a bit, so the yarn of the week will last for 14 days, before changing).

T'ika

Unbelievable but true, this cotton is soft like velvet, and comes in the most gorgeous colours. The Mirasol Project supports local communities in Peru through the sales of the Mirasol Yarn Collection. Peru’s heritage and culture of textile artistry is rich and ancient. T’ika is one of the many yarns from The Mirasol Yarn Collection, which originates from this rich history of techniques and traditions. This Pima cotton comes from the coastal regions of Peru, and is spun in the foothills of the Andes. A portion of every purchase goes directly to the funding of a children’s school and a boarding centre in the remote area of Munani in the region of Puno. Have a look at the cardigan that I've made using T'ika in this blog post
