In my search for ethical and environmental friendly yarns I find that the yarn industry in general is a very concerned industry where these issues are given a lot of attention, at least this goes for the small and independent producers. I’m glad to see that these concerns also are given more and more attention from the bigger companies as well. Debbie Bliss has developed a whole range of eco friendly and fairtraded cotton yarns, which I’m very happy to include in my shop’s collection.

Debbie Bliss Eco Baby and Eco Aran yarn are manufactured from 100% organic, fairtrade cotton within an ecologically and socially conscious process through the Bio Re textile chain, which integrates farmers, their families and the textile industry as equal partners. The yarn is dyed with non toxic dyes in recyclable water.
