Three evenings’ course where you’ll progress from a beginner’s level of knitting. Skills required when entering: cast on, cast off, knit, and purl.
When: Monday November 14th, Monday November 21st, and Monday November 28th
Time: 6.30 - 8.30
Where: Lemon Monkey,
188 Stoke Newington High Street,
London, N16 7JD
Price: £50
Note: Workshop price does NOT include a knittig project.
We will cover and discuss:
- What is gauge/tension
- How to read a pattern
- Knitting in the round
- Definitions of lace, cable, colour work
- Resources, where do I go for help and how do I progress.
The idea for the intermediate workshop is for you to choose and bring to the course your own project to complete. Since we are all at different levels it is important that you find your ”perfect” project, and I’ll help you work through and to complete it. It can be a hat, a cowl, gloves or even a flattering summer top. The only requirements I’ve set for this workshop is that you know the basics: Cast on, cast off, knit and purl, so you might want to choose a pattern that introduces a technique you haven’t done before.
The aim of this workshop is to learn how to read a pattern properly, where to look for resources, and to find the confidence in trying out new and exciting projects on your own.
